The beautiful cover of this book (and the deep blue color of the page edges) drew me in right away, even though contemporary YA isn't usually my cup of tea. The story was interesting, and I thought it brought up many points worth thinking about in terms of identity, ethnicity, parental expectations, and more. Also, it was very easy to read, the story flowed well, and I cared about the characters. However, I was definitely not the key demographic for this story as I found the main character's relationship with his parents hard to relate to. That being said, if you're interested in the themes of the story I'd say it's worth a read. It absolutely made me think. And if you read the blurb about the issues Frank Li is going through (all the reasons he comes up with the fake dating plan) and say 'that sounds like my family!' then you'll probably love this book.
