I loved this book and enjoyed how the author took you through not just a love story but allowed the reader to see things through a different cultural lens. When two teenagers fall in love, it seems that love is all that matters; and for a little bit it is; until that changes. For the characters in this novel they experience teenage love but also are confronted with the desires of their parents, their cultural norms and societal norms in general. This author is a mastermind in writing and allows you to grow close to all the characters in the novel, even though at times you want to hate them. The author also does a great job of exposing some of the norms that American society has set forth for young adults along with cultural norms. This book explores some topics that many young adults and adults need to think about. GREAT READ!
