I had zero expectations going into this book, and it blew them all away. I loved this book. It was both incredibly well-written and also well-plotted. The messages it discussed were great and important, and I loved that it explored being Korean while also pushing back against anti-Blackness. I loved Frank and his voice. My one issue was with the romance, but I just generally have issues with romance so that's less a reflection on the book than it might be in other people's reviews. Though David Yoon is the husband of Nicola Yoon, he deserves to stand on his own and be picked up because he's a fantastic author, not just because he's the husband of a NYT bestselling author (though her books are pretty good as well).
