I started off thinking it was going to be predictable fake dating to real dating king I’d book, but then it took so many turns and incorporated so many different layers and hot button topics that it took it to such a higher caliber of story! 📚
This was just another example of where just because a book is labeled as YA, it doesn’t mean that’s all it is. It touched on racism, family, feeling like you don’t belong and of course love. I appreciate YA books that tackle such tough topics.
One of my favorite quotes from this story was- “Love is a belief mutually held.” Isn’t that just so powerful!
There were so many other quotes that I highlighted while reading this book because they were so deep and thought provoking.
