Again I am not a huge fan of YA, but I found this to definitely be a true young adult book targeted towards older high school and college kids. Overall I really enjoyed this. I loved the simplistic, colorful cover. I found the characters easy to relate to and like. I truly enjoyed watching Frank and Joy’s relationship bud and their interactions together. I did find that the book felt long, but some parts were very short feeling. For example, Frank and Joy got together fairly quick in the timeline. The whole fake dating didn’t take up much of the timeline. I also felt like their story was rushed. I wasn’t a huge fan of the ending because it felt like there was this great love story building and then it just fell flat. The ending did not work for me. I loved the rest of the story and the ideas of how relationships impact our family and vice versa. Definitely an easy, quick read with some great underlying messages. And it felt relatable. Not sappy and out of reach. But truly relatable for some young adults. Especially those getting ready for college.
