Just starting with the witty title of “Frankly in Love” (playing off of the main character’s name, Frank Li) sets the mood for the rest of the hilarious nerdy tale. However, David Yoon still manages to portray the American and Korean culture so honestly in his story, creating not only an interesting story and plot but also including a main character which so much depth and feeling. It is refreshing to see the beautiful quirkiness between Frank and Q’s friendship. This book managed to have the funniest moments and most thought provoking ones. Portraying the struggle of being a human in this world, race issues, identity, injustice, and just the confusion of falling in love in such a brilliant way. The plot is almost edible in the way you can just enjoy it endlessly and never expect what David Yoon will throw at you next.
It is sure to send you in an instant book hangover!
