"Everyone has loveliness inside if you look carefully."

SYNOPSIS | Frank Li is a Korean-American born and raised in Southern California. He grew up knowing that his sister was ostracized from the family because she didn't date a Korean boy and Frank feels the same thing will happen to him when his parents realize he is dating a white girl from school (Brit Means). His friend (Joy Song) is experiencing a similar thing with her Korean family so they both decide to pretend date each other in the hopes that their parents will leave them be.

MY THOUGHTS | As soon as my pre-order came in for this one I dropped everything else I was reading and got stuck in and I was surprised to find that the writing style reminded me of John Green. I really enjoyed the Korean cultural references around food, and respecting your elders and home protocols.... but I also really didn't enjoy the amalgamation of words like "fartphone" & "snapstory" that appeared consistently throughout the book.
