To a certain degree, we can all agree that our parents put their own projections of what our lives should look like on us, and this book spotlights another side of it: having parents that come from a different country with specific traditions. Having a Filipino stepmother, I can empathize with Frank, and one thing I love about books and reading is knowing you aren't alone. This looks like a perfect remedy for struggling with difference of opinions with your parents! And the cover is beautiful. I can't wait to read more to find out what Frank does, and how he confronts what he wants versus what his parents want.
