I was lucky enough to borrow my friend's advanced copy of 4 Dead Queens and now I am literally indebted to her forever because this book is freaking fantastic, no doubt about it.
I did not read the synopsis prior to diving in. I did not read the blurbs or the hype either. Going in blind is the ony way to adequately enjoy this book because you get to see the story develop in an organic way.
I finished chapter one and thought to myself, "oh, so that's what this book is going to be about." Suffice to say that I was wrong. This book will make you laugh. It will make you cry. It will break your heart. But above all else, it will blow your mind.
4 Dead Queens is a murder mystery meets YA Fantasy meets mindblowing twists your wildest dreams could not create even if you tried. I am utterly blown away at what Astrid Scholte was able to accomplish with this novel.
There is swoon worthy moments, thievery, and murder. There is so much more than I can even mention and the ending will leave you sobbing tears of joy. If you read one book in 2019, make it 4 Dead Queens.
