I just hate leaving negative comments, and put this off for so long because this book I looked forward reading it. The more I read, the more I realized, it just was not for me. I think maybe one of the main issues was that it was a standalone book when there is A LOT going on. I want to know more about everyone and I want to learn more about the world. I wasn't quite able to connect with the characters or the events that were happening to truly engage with the narrative. Again, this isn't because the book is necessarily bad, it just wasn't quite for me. Also, it's a debut novel. I know I'll look forward to reading more by her though in the future because the idea was interesting and I look forward to seeing how Astrid grows as an author.
