From the beginning to the end I couldn’t put this book down. The use of perspective alone made this book so interesting. By far one of the most fascinating and fast paced debuts.
Astrid Scholte really knows how to write. Her use of all of the queen's perspectives and personal challenges made this book unique. Never have I read a fantasy murder mystery that writes half in the detective’s point of view and half in the four different murder victims perspective.
Phenomenal it it’s creativity and complexity, from the first chapter I was intrigued. Even the cover is gorgeous. I can’t recommend this enough, it brought people together by tearing people apart. The adventure and the mystery (and even some romance might I say) helped to create a unique world in which nobody has ever imagined.
