I flew through this book. This amazing debut book by Astrid Scholte. She created a beautiful, dark world and I was immediately sucked into it.

The world building and wordplay was done so perfectly. I loved the storyline of four Queens ruling their quadrants, instead of one King ruling all. It's not something I've read before, I love the "hear woman roar" of it.

Keralie is a very charismatic character and the character growth she goes through throughout her adventure was incredibly done. I really felt and connected with her and her story. I enjoyed Varin but didn't feel he was involved much and so I never did connect with him as well as I did Keralie but I did enjoy his parts he played. He is a very important part to her story.

Mackiel is dirt. Garbage. Disgusting vile creature and he gets what he deserves. That's all I'll say for him.

So, I really loved Four Dead Queens and I had no difficulty reading it at any time. I had a good shock moment that I didn't see coming when I thought I had figured it out but I was completely wrong! Great debut and I look forward to more of Astrid Scholte's books!
