Devoured this in two days. I loved it. I wish there was more. I'm very sad that this is just a stand-alone novel. This was such an intriguing book because it was definitely fantasy, but also, a bit of sci-fi-futuristic aspects all surrounding a giant murder mystery, so like, the all the best genres in one? I loved it. The inspector really blew me away at the end. A true Eonist. Keralie was great, so resourceful, and since so much was left unexplained until closer to the end, I kept coming up with the craziest theories on her part in the whole murder plot. Mackiel was a fantastically slimy villain. Varin was like a poor puppy dog, following Keralie around and just wanting to do the right thing for his master (he was too cute!!). Overall, a fun debut!
