This book has been one of my favorites, and one of the first ya dystopian books that made me love the genre! The cover is beautiful and shiny, but I'm a sucker for these kinds of dark looking covers. I loved the mystery plot line, who-dun-it plot line. I admit it I kept guessing what was going to happen, expecting it to have a boring ending, but the twist at the end was truly surprising. The characters were wonderfully crafted, stepping past their original stereotypes. The ending was satisfying. However the book does suffer from a "Bury Your Gays" mistake, but it is easier to swallow that because the characters are given justice. The main character can be a bit annoying at times, but nothing that isn't human and relatable.
