This book opens with Elias kicking butt and hinting at all sorts of dark magic. That got me hooked and excited for the rest of the story. Sadly it did not keep me hanging when Ophelia and Lucas were introduced. Things got murky and confusing and I became disconnected from the story.

It devolves even more when the characters all meet up and we have the cliché love triangle. If the fate of the world hangs in the balance between gods and monsters, I would think more time would be spent on that instead of relationship drama. But, no, that is not the main focus. It hints at more near the end but I would have to read the next books to find out the rest of the interesting stuff and I do not feel like I want to, even with that cliff hanger and absolutely no resolution.

So, unless you are in this for the long haul, or like blech love triangle romances, I would not recommend this book.
