The story itself has potential, but the execution was not there for me. It was as if the author took every other word and looked it up in the thesaurus so it reads more like the SAT/ACT test. I personally don't enjoy books written that way. It does not make the reader dumb or stupid, it just doesn't flow. No one really talks like that either so why would you write a book that way. This is a pass for me.
