I hope it's true that the author really is an empathetic mother who's doing her best for her child, but in general I don't trust the parents of autistic kids, especially when they have such a big audience. Also I hate when parents heap expectations on their children, the way the author and her husband expect their son to love baseball before he's even born. She also uses "him or her" instead of "they" and refers to female friends as girlfriends, which is always annoying for me.
