I'm scared at the same time glad to have read this book.
Oh my bookshelf!! This wonderful book was the one I chose for the month of March for #12booksfrom12friends, recommend by Tarryn Fisher. Tarryn Fisher suggested that we all read this book so many times, as it was her recent favourite and well you got to listen to one of your most favourite authors, so I went ahed and put this on my list and damnnn!! I’m glad I did so.
Megan Agelo is an exceptional author who made the characters seem too real and the circumstances seem too scary. The fact that the future and the past is told in separate pov’s and through different characters but connected with a similar circumstances is what caught my interest. It was intriguing from the very first sentence, because you don’t know what the hell is happening but still the tension gets to you. there is a kind of harsh truth and brutal honesty in this book. It reminded me of George Orwell’s 1984, while 1984 feels like a scary fiction this book feels like it might happen right now and we all will be stuck in a way.
This is one such book which will leave you thinking about your choices and options on using the social media, the limit, the craze, the obsession, the difficulties and the followers. This isn’t a self help book, or a reality book but this book is the one which you will enjoy reading and at the same time, hope that you will try to make your choices better. The book is mainly about two friends who take up drastic measures to become popular, the events that follow and the resulting consequences are definitely read worthy.
