I really really loved this book! There are dual storylines that take place 35 years apart and I was captivated by both! The premise of Followers was intriguing and it really makes the reader reflect on privacy and social media in today’s society. There were some parts/subplots that I probably would’ve taken out in order to better continue the intensity, but I really liked the characters so it didn’t even matter because I enjoyed their stories/thoughts! The one thing I will say is that I did not like the ending. It was wrapped up too neatly and happened so suddenly! I feel like the book as a whole was such a strong novel that it deserved a better ending that fit more with the overall theme. However, I’d still recommend this dystopian/sci-fi fiction book because of it’s interesting (and clever) concepts, likeable characters (am I obsessed with the name Marlow now? Maybe), and overall realistic plot. I couldn’t BELIEVE this was the debut release by Megan Angelo but I will be eagerly awaiting her next novel! Thank you to Bookish First, Graydon House, and the author for the free advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!
