This book did an excellent job of balancing two storylines, one set in a world very much like the present and another set after some kind of disaster referred to as The Spill where people are in a Truman Show-type reality show (except they have volunteered for it). The author does an excellent job balancing the tension in both and giving us a dystopian look at where technology can go wrong. She also does a wonderful balancing act making us care about characters who are on their surface not especially sympathetic. While not especially uplifting, and darker than the cover might suggest, I tore through this one and would highly recommend to fans of light sci fi or even just an unusual imaginative story.
