I thought this excerpt was intriguing. Orla's perspective feels very real and familiar to me for some reason. She seems like someone I would know in real life. I found the writing, however, to be the strongest part of this excerpt. It was sharp, but easy to digest. Marlow futuristic storyline, on the other hand, felt less familiar to me and almost Big-Brother-ish. I would be interested to see how technology plays a part in these characters' lives.
