After I read the synopsis of "Followers", I was hoping to love this book. It seemed so poignant for our current culture and where it is heading. However, once I started to read the book, I was struggling to connect with Orla. I found her shallowness to be unrelatable and I could not find any motivation to push for a further connection with the story. I think that if Angelo had started with a prologue of Marlow then I would have liked it more.
