Followers hooked me right from the start. The near-present-day focus on the population's obsession with the media and social networking then fast-forwarding to a not-so-far future and seeing what this obsession has morphed into. It's tantalizing and intriguing. I loved the little hints of what's to come in-between the 2015 and 2051 timelines. Little things that Orla references that make me feel that Orla's dreams don't necessarily come true in the way she initially thought. The writing feels light, but there's certainly a dark humor about it. Just these three chapters emit a heavy subject matter but written in a way that's easy to read. At least so far. This one is definitely going on my TBR list.
