While I'm not sure how the story line of the near-present day (2015) is going to tie into the story line in 2051, I can be sure that it's probably not going to be a good for the characters. The social climbing, networking, and celebrity culture of the present is captured well. I am more interested in Marlow's story, which has echoes of a strong tradition of dystopian novels behind it. In a world where your entire existence can be monetized and every second shared, what do you get to keep for yourself?
