I was excited to read J.C. Cervantes debut YA, after knowing how well-loved her middle grade is. The cover looks a bit Disney for my tastes, but the vibe of the first look does strike me as Disney-adjacent with its light/mystical approach to the loss of the MC's grandmother within the first few pages. I really enjoyed the narration from "Fate" as an opening, and am excited to see how Cervantes pulls that in later.
