I didn't expect much from this book. A lot of times when books are chosen as celebrity book club picks they are mediocre at best. I was pleasantly surprised. Watching Daunis deal with the loss of her friend and then being thrown headlong into helping the FBI try and uncover a drug ring was fascinating. Learning about her Native American culture and the epidemic that drugs play in these communities was eye-opening. I loved learning about the customs of her people. Daunis and her brother have such a different support system within the tribe.
This book was full of action, while giving so much information about so many different subjects that it kept me invested the whole time even though I did guess part of the twist coming at the end. Seeing the different repercussions of actions at the end because of wealth discrepancies is unfortunately all too accurate of real life. All around such a good book!
