This is now one of my favorite books. The book has Indigenous issues, history, culture, real life issues, and more. There is a rape in this book so I will give you guys a trigger warning for all sensitive to that but it isn't very graphic. This is Angeline's debut novel and she nailed it! 5/5 stars. Jamie is the love of my life I love him so much. Just read this book, do it.
As a biracial person myself, I face a lot of the same issues the Daunis has faced in the book. She was really relatable and I love how she was smart and knew what she wanted. Angeline has a way of making her characters come to life so you feel that characters emotions and are alongside them every step of the way. I love how she incorporated her culture and her whole identity into this book. I LOVE YOU ANGELINE BOULLEY YOU HAVE WRITTEN A MASTERPIECE!
Not to mention the cover. The cover has me screaming, crying, throwing up, etc. It is so beautiful and so wonderfully drawn.
