Holy cow. What. A. Book. I do not see many debut authors that can write like this, let alone in the young adult world, and I was absolutely blown away from the first chapter. From there, Firekeeper's Daughter never let up once while I was reading. I was quickly swept up in the world of hockey, murder, and a sweeping drug epidemic that is taking over the reservation that our main heroine lives on. Angeline Boulley is highly talented, and this book is well deserving of all the accolades and hype it's gotten so far, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a super enthralling read that is sure to quickly engage you and not only keep you hooked for a long time, but will keep you thinking about it long after you're done reading. I look forward to anything that Boulley writes from here on out, and sincerely cannot wait to see what she does next.
