I love Daunis and Jamie. Auntie and Granny June were my favorite characters. Dana Firekeeper can suck several dicks, and I wanted to kick Call-Me-Grant about a hundred times in the nuts with steel-toed boots.

Not a five star because I needed more in the end about Daunis and Jamie. My heart shriveled at the lack of certainty.

I love how the book dealt with what Native women go through and how they are disrespected and discarded. It’s the same way I feel about the treatment of Black women in this country. I also really enjoyed learning about Ojibwe cultural medicines and traditions. I want to know about the different kinds of sage and spiritual rituals!! I want to learn to respect my Moon!! 🌑

The book was also very educational about tribal laws and membership. I feel honored learning about the struggles of the other oldest minority in America. I feel like we should create a support group: “the minorities America mistreated, and abused and now conveniently have forgotten that America is responsible for our generational trauma.”
