First I would like to say that I absolutely love this book cover. It is vibrant and eye-catching. It is one of the main reasons I was drawn to this book.

There is too much that is notable about this book, and I couldn't possibly touch on everything in this short review.

This is a solid story about a young woman who courageously takes action to find the person or people responsible for distributing a fatal drug in her tribe and other surrounding tribes. She does what needs to be done and sometimes finds herself in harrowing situations. The love of her community, tribe and ancestry fuels her assertiveness into the investigation. In the process, she shows immense integrity and faith while revealing to herself who she is and what she is capable of.

This book encompasses love, loss, betrayal, love for family or tribe, while integrating informative information about certain tribes customs and beliefs.

One of my favorite quotes from the book is when Daunis tells Levi "We love imperfect people. We can love them and not condone their actions and beliefs." (pg 437) This quote should resonate with everyone.
