A Breathtaking Story That Is Hard to Put Down

The Fire Keeper's Daughter is a young adult novel by Angeline Boulley. It follows the story of Daunis Fontaine, a half-Ojibwe, half-French Canadian girl. When her grandfather dies, Daunis is taken in by her tribe's medicine woman and starts to learn about her heritage and the power of the natural world, and discovers that she has a rare ability to see into the future. When a series of murders start happening in her small town, Daunis becomes determined to find out who is behind them. As she comes to terms with her abilities, DAunis must use them to help stop a group of drug dealers who are targeting her community. I found the Fire Keeper's Daughter to be an enjoyable and fast-paced read. I appreciated the way that the author weaves together elements of mystery, romance, and suspense. The characters were also well-developed and likable. I would definitely recommend this book to readers who enjoy young adult fiction.
