I liked this in the end, but it took me a long time to get through. I had to pause twice to read other books, which is not at all like me. I had heard such good things about it that I wanted to finish, and I’m not sorry I did. It ended well, but it took SO long to get to the bulk of the action that I don’t know if I’ll continue with the series. There were great characters and great arcs for many of them. I enjoyed the flashbacks to the orphanage that two of the main characters grew up in, as compared to how they are now, and there were several good twists when I thought I knew something about the past--something that was still a big deal in the present--only to find out that things were not as they seemed.
