You know how sometimes switching up genres is the only way to not drown yourself in a book funk? I started this after finishing another fantasy book, it was hard for me to get in touch with the characters and really connect with them as characters. So I put this book down and picked up a thriller with her intention or going back and rereading some or most of this book. I had to start with a fresh mind. And once I looked at it with a fresh perspective, it was so easy to really get to like the world building and the characters. I love that there were dragons. Obviously. And I loved that there was a light romance brewing. A romance I couldn’t really appreciate through the fog in my brain. I also love the cover. I hope it’s shiny and embossed when it’s released.
