This is a debut YA fantasy. It’s all about revolutions, war and dragon riders! Lee and Annie come from very different worlds but end up in the same orphanage and become friends. They grow and and both become dragon riders. There is a little bit of romance but it is definitely secondary story line and I like that. I like that the story is very focused on the world and character development. The two characters are central and in reality they are enemies but only one of them knows it. Their loyalty is tested when an old tyrant returns and a war is on the horizon. This is very much a story about good and evil, right and wrong, loyalty and friendship.. and dragons! Don’t forget about the dragons!
