I was really surprised by how much I absolutely loved Fireborne! There was so much political drama and a lot of struggles to pick the right side and fight for justice, it was spellbinding! I loved Annie, she was the perfect embodiment of a peasant rising up in the ranks. Her strength and intellect were always overshadowed by this painful doubt that was ingrained in her since birth and watching her overcome it was beautiful. Despite what a horrible person Power is, I also came to like him as well. Lee was by far the most intriguing character. Right up to the end I was completely unsure of what his final decision would be. I love when you get a book where you can't predict the ending. It makes the journey so much more fun and exciting. I hope there will be a sequel, because I need more!
