In Fireborne, Rosaria Munda pulls readers in with the adventure of dragonriding - there's a hold-your-breath kind of excitement to the descriptions of skyfish, training, conflict and competition!

I predict that the action and spirit of dragonriding will have people drawing comparisons not only between Fireborne and Game of Thrones, but Fireborne and the Harry Potter series. However, it's not just dragons that connect all these texts - it's the SMART political worlds at their core! Within just the prologue and first few chapters, Munda's book engages with power structures, revolution, class conflict, etc.

I'd love to have this book for my classroom shelves. The combination of dragons, politics, and YA romance would make this a perfect read for many of my kids!

One final comment... The book's cover and title are AWESOME. I love the fiery red background, how it offsets the black figure of the dragon. The title's fantastic, too, because it has me questioning both the past that's forged Annie and Lee AND what kinds of fire fuel revolution, past, present, and future.
