A big thank you to Celadon Books and Bookishfirst for the chance to review this book.
I'm just going to start off by saying Ms. French has had one heck of a life. It was captivating to read about. Kinda makes me feel like an overly nosy neighbor who thrives off gossip, but in the best of ways if that's possible. Ms. French really holds back nothing as she narrates to her audience the trials of her life. From her early pregnancy, through her bid to escape Freedom, through the struggles of her developing pop up's, restaurants, the implosion of her marriage and the rebuilding of her life after her addiction struggles. This is really the story of someone pulling themselves back together after having hit the very lowest point in their life.
It was an engaging and thoughtful book that, like I said seemed to hold nothing back from the reader. It very much puts into perspective that with tenacity and drive people can overcome even the worst of circumstances and thrive.
