I thought this was a well-written memoir. What I liked about it was
- Descriptive: The food always sounded amazing and reading this book constantly made me hungry. I would definitely recommend eating before reading this book because all of the food was described in such a way that sounded delicious. Also, I thought the setting was described well and I felt as though I was in Maine even though I have never been.
- Honest: Sometimes when reading memoirs, I cannot help but feel as though the situations are polished in order for the authors to curate how they are perceived by their audience. I appreciated the way that French left everything on the table and was very frank about her life building up to. As a younger reader with very limited life experience, it was interesting to read about her life experiences and how they built her into the person she was.

Overall, this book was wonderful. I am not really into cooking and this was still a good read. This book even made me wonder if I am missing out on the joys of cooking.
