I wasn't into the First Impression of Father of Lions by Louise Callaghan at all. It was hard to get through. The story itself is nice and all but I've heard it before. A man has a dream of building a zoo and owning lions. He runs into obstacles along the way but manages to achieve his dream in the end. Mind you, I've only read the first 20 pages or so but this is one of those entirely predictable books that just doesn't hold enough interest for me. Also, the writing is pretty bad. My son (who is 9 and in 4th grade) could easily read this but I doubt it would keep his interest either.
