I love books set in the Middle East and am intrigued by this true story set in Mosul. I was immediately drawn in by the description of Abu Laith's love for animals. I enjoyed the descriptions of the land itself and the qualities of the animals. I know that ISIS had no interest in the animals so am eager to read how Abu Laith saves the animals from them. The cover adds to my interest.
