Welcome to Ever After, Missouri where all the fairy tales are played out in a quaint little community led by sisters and Fairy Godmothers, Petunia, Blue Bonnet and Jonquil.

Lucky Fujicki and Ransom Payne are the lucky recipients of the Godmothers "meddling". Unfortunately, unlike her name, Lucky is anything but.
The Godmothers have decided that in order to save Ever After and bring the magic back that Lucky and Ransom fake marry, but it serves as a dual purpose as this is a second chance at romance for the couple. See, Lucky and Ransom were college sweethearts until the unfortunate incident, which I will not spoil by detailing here.

I'm the first to admit that magical realism is not my genre, but I found this to be a delightfully entertaining, at times laugh out loud funny, second chance at romance that even had a cynic like me believing in fairy tales and happily ever after!
