This book has a great message. An intelligent, successful man, Bob Goff shares a read accessible to all. He upholds a voice that he writes for peers rather than people beneath him. Through several anecdotes ranging from his family's friendship with their elderly neighbor to his court case against a witch doctor in Africa, he shows us what matters is not liking Jesus but being like him. This distinction makes all the difference, and I love the emphasis made here. However, some of the stories seem to try too hard. I wonder why Goff needs to work so hard to point out his fun at Disney World and why he flaunts a title in Africa. Those childlike efforts aside, the book makes an uplifting read in a world that needs a little more kindness. Readers can walk away with a reminder and hope that we must love like Jesus did and show up for people rather than judge and stand by.
