This book was a roller coaster ride from start to finish! Without giving too much away, the story is about Danny Pine who was convicted of murdering his girlfriend, Charlotte. There is a Netflix documentary that was told about Danny's story and therefore everyone knows about the case and the Pine family. The Pine family are found dead in Mexico and Matt Pine, Danny's brother, did not go on the trip so he is left to put the pieces together about what happened to his family. Told from many different POVs (past and present) it truly takes you on very exciting roller coaster ride. I will admit I found the different POVs kind of confusing, which is why I gave it 4 starts instead of 5, but it wraps up nicely in the end. Every time I read about from that character's POV I became more and more interested to find out what had happened to Charlotte. I can't believe is Alex Finlay's first novel! He has written a very well thought out book with characters that you care about. My heart broke for the Pine family and I felt like I was feeling all the emotions that they were feeling. This would make for an excellent movie!
