I listened to the audible version of Every Last Fear on a long car trip and boy did it not disappoint! I was immediately drawn into the story of the Pine family murders, and the flashback mystery of who had killed Danny Pine's (oldest son's) girlfriend. I enjoyed the story of learning more about the Pine family, Matt and his friends, and also about Danny's conviction and jail time. I loved that the Pine family was not perfect, but deeply loved each other faults and all.

As the story progressed, the 2 mysteries merged with Matt being tying link. I had a strong suspicion who the "bad guy" was throughout the book, but really enjoyed seeing how the characters in the book reached that conclusion too. I felt like each chapter moved the book forward and kept the book moving forward at a quick pace. This is the only thriller that I have found so much emotion/family story included in a thriller. Loved this--can't wait until the next book Alex Finlay!
