A lot of bookstagrammers on my list were raving about this book and my expectations had sky-rocketed. Excited as I picked it up, I was looking forward to a face-paced thriller that would blow my mind from the first page. Not blaming the book but I was kind of bored after reading a few chapters from this book.

The idea and concept behind this book were pretty unique and the entire family dynamic too. The curiosity of knowing the mystery is there but the pace was slow in my opinion and am not fond of switching timelines either, which tend to confuse me, if excessively done. The story revolves around Matt whose (almost) entire family has died due to a gas leakage in their hotel, while they were away for a vacation. Of course, we have a detective on board who deals with the media etc because his family were involved in a scandal earlier too. Is the past and present connected then?
