While Matt is off at college he learns that his parents and two younger siblings were killed in a freak accident while vacationing in Mexico. Before he has a chance to take in this news, the FBI shows up telling him they are not convinced the tragedy was an accident and send Matt into the middle of the danger to request the release of his family's bodies from the Mexican government.

Matt is no stranger to tragedy. Two years earlier his brother, Danny, was convicted of murdering his girlfriend and sentenced to life in prison. Matt's family never believed Danny was guilty and fought to have his case reopened.

Matt must now cope with the loss of his parents and younger siblings and his suspicion that his older brother really is guilty of the crime that sent him to prison.

There is so much going on in this book and the author weaves it all together beautifully. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and did not see the end coming.

Matt's character was really well developed and in a very natural way. He was faced with so many conflicting events and emotions that I really felt like I got a great glimpse inside his head. For definitely being a plot-driven novel, the character development was really well done.

I would recommend this book to all of my thriller-loving friends.
