Throughly Enjoying
This book turned my thoughts on the women of Shakespeare upside down. It made me think about how at a different point in time women were viewed by those who wrote about them. My favorite story was that of Cordelia, the strength & empowerment I felt in her story was something very moving. While not to spoil the book, the fact that they decided to give a try at changing one aspect of their stories & how each one chose what they changed was a great experience. The way this is still written in verse as it was for so many to follow like a play, kept me reading each page like it might be the characters last scene. As for the ending of the book, I loved it! Would I have liked to have heard the other women's stories & perspectives, yes, but that also leaves it open for the author to write another book with these women of Shakespeare in it. I recommend this book to anyone looking at a different take on the women of Shakespeare.
