Since reading Raymond Khoury’s The Last Templar I have been a fan. While his books have contained some history relevant to the plot, this is truly a departure from his past books. His alternate history presents a city of Paris that is unrecognizable. His mysterious stranger, covered with symbols and what appears to be dates, first appeared in the 1600s, offering a guarantee of the Ottoman empire’s successful conquest of Vienna. Will his reappearance in the present lead to further changes?
