I absolutely loved this one. This book allows adults to have a little off kilter reality in their lives that provides a fascinating storyline that is almost like a fable. It is something you try to wrap your mind around and intrigues you beyond all imagination. The characters are grounded and you really get to know the main protagonist. It plays out like a mystery that has gone unsolved for decades. It is a place where mothers suddenly disappear, yet weirdly enough it is accepted in the community. The town’s people almost feel a foreboding feeling before it happens and it can happen to any mother; despite the number of kids, wealth, family name and so forth. They are never to be seen again, and the town performs their ritual of removing all the woman’s belongings and burning all pictures of her.

They don’t get many visitors but when they do they are obsessed. They know not much of what lays beyond where the live. One day something in their monotonous lives suddenly stirs things up and you will be let in on some secrets that you have been pandering for since the start. You will be amazed at how it leads you deeper into your quest and onto a journey of pages in your hands.
