I am definitely not a sci fi reader but do read fantasy which this was also categorized as on Amazon as sci fi and fantasy which I didn't realize this book was until I checked right after I started reading it.
The reason I wanted to read it because I read Saint X and did not really like it and wanted to give the author another try to see if it was different. It really was and glad I decided to read it.
I really did like this book once I got into it. However, it was a strange book and liked the second half better than the first. It had me wanting to keep reading it to see what happened to the "mothers." I was a little surprised to say in the least of how this book panned out and how it ended.
It's true that you can't go home again. I have no idea where this place was located and the author wanted readers to know that. The names of the streets were definitely foreign.
